In my email today was a fall newsletter from a very talented jewelry artist - Danielle Miller.
Although we have never officially met, we are Facebook friends. I always look forward to her posts on Facebook because she is a "one woman shop". She makes jewelry that is absolutely beautiful.

Arkansas Arts Center Museum School Fall Session

I will be teaching "Introduction to Jewelry" on Monday and Wednesday nights. Classes are from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. This class is an introduction to traditional jewelry making skills with hands on experience in layout, drill, pierce, file, form solder texture and polishing various metals.

Students will complete several pieces, one of which will include a bezel-set cabochon stone ring.

The Museum School Class Schedule is "online only" this session in an effort to "go green". The registration is online as well. Art Center membership is encouraged and members receive a discounted tuition for Museum School Classes.

Its well into January now and I think its time to keep this blog moving along. My website is undergoing some revamping to allow purchases without going to the Etsy store. I have been working on some designs for Valentines Day....hearts, of course. Stephano's will be having some type of event for Valentines....Stay tuned for updates on that. New designs including work with copper and various patinas and finishes to get a different look and add some color!!!
The magazine that I am being featured in will hit the newstands on March 1st I am told.

Museum School Sale

Arkansas Arts Center Museum School Sale

Every year all of the students of the museum school are invited to show their wares in this
sale. This is a really great place to find unique and handmade items for Christmas gifts or
for yourself.

While attending classes you don't get to see what the other students are making. I am looking
forward to seeing what the pottery people have made this year. Wonderful artwork and photography. Woodwork and glass work. Sculpture too! My friend Diana Ashley will have some of her wonderful sculptures. And not to forget JEWELRY. ( hint, hint )

It has been several weeks since my last post.....where has the time gone. I have been busy with some studio projects. I recently tried watercasting and I love it. Results are immediate and endless possibilities with the castings. A great way to recycle your scrap pieces.

Brittany's Ring

I thought I would post this custom ring I am working on.

It is a western inspired band. I have taken sterling silver

sheet and hand sawn a floral pattern to be fused to the band.

The band is aprx. 3/8" wide with a rope edge.

In honor of Cristina of CP Hurley Jewelry Design,

I participated in a giveaway in celebration of St. Patricks Day

and Cristina's birthday.

I made three pair of earrings inspired by the color green.

I used hand formed copper, chrysoprase and green pearls.

I have had a wonderful response to these earrings.

I plan to make these earring styles soon and have

them listed in my etsy store.
